bail

. Police said Vikas Anand, 22, a professional car racer and resident of T Nagar, and his friend

Charan Kumar

were returning after attending a party thrown by

Tuti Patriot

when the accident occurred on R K Salai. Both of them were said to be drunk. The car rammed the median and ploughed through autorickshaws parked on the roadside.

He had not committed any offence, nor abetted Viaks Anand. "The prosecution had made the averment without any material," said the plea adding, "The eyewitnesses and electronic record of the hotel from where the car was driven by Vikas Anand would clearly prove he (Vikas Anand) was attempting to put blame on Charan Kumar to escape the clutches of law. Vikas Anand had also approached the sessions court seeking bail with false averment and unclean hands," the petition said.
