DMK treasurer M K Stalin also paid homage to Jayakanthan. Stalin termed Jayakanthan’s demise as an “irreparable damage” to Tamil literature.
CPM leader G Ramakrishnan said Jayakanthan started to write when he was working at the unified Communist Party office in Chennai. Jayakanthan's contribution to Tamil literature was unmatched, said Ramakrishnan.
“The history of Tamil literature is not complete without the writings of Jayakanthan,” said PMK chief S Ramadoss.
“In his each and every writing, there is a message related to life. Though he reached the pinnacle of fame, he was still humble,” said Ramadoss.
Tamil Nadu Congress Committee chief E V K S Elangovan said Jayakanthan spread the spirit of nationalism in Tamil Nadu.
