PMK replaces its Dharmapuri candidate with Anbumani Ramadoss's wife Sowmiya

CHENNAI: PMK on Friday evening changed its candidate in Dharmapuri constituency for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. Party president and Rajya Sabha member Anbumani Ramadoss’s wife Sowmiya is the new candidate.

In a statement, PMK founder leader S Ramadoss said the party had earlier announced that Arasangam would contest as the party's candidate in Dharmapuri but later decided to replace him with Pasumai Thayagam president Sowmiya Anbumani as the candidate for the crucial seat where PMK has considerable following and support.

Pasumai Thayagam is a non-government organization that promotes the conservation of nature.

PMK is contesting the polls under the BJP-led alliance.
