Chennai assault case: Physiotherapist arrested for drugging, raping 20-year-old intern
CHENNAI: A 27-year-old physiotherapist has been arrested for allegedly drugging and raping a 20-yearold woman who was an intern at his physiotherapy centre near Thiru Vi Ka Nagar.
Police said the man lured the woman to an apartment near Kolathur on Saturday under the guise of an emergency and sexually assaulted her.
Kolathur All Women Police identified the accused as Karthikeyan, the owner of a physiotherapy centre. The survivor, a physiotherapy student at a private college, had been working as an intern at the centre for the past few months.
On Saturday morning, Karthikeyan took her to an apartment near Kolathur and gave her a drink spiked with sedatives, after which she lost consciousness, police said. When she regained consciousness a few hours later, she realised she had been assaulted. She then returned home and informed her parents.
Based on her complaint, the police registered a case under relevant sections of the BNS, including rape, and arrested Karthikeyan. After an inquiry, he was remanded in judicial custody. Further investigation is underway.

Generally Females complete the puberty process by around 18 yrs. So marriage is the need.
