Parents demand CB-CID probe into daughter's suspicious death in TN school, seek protection
VILLUPURAM: The parents of a lower kindergarten girl student, who died after falling into a septic tank in a private school in Vikravandi on Jan 3, alleged foul play in the death of their daughter and demanded the case be transferred to the CB-CID. They urged govt to extend protection as they faced threats from unknown people not to pursue the case.
They submitted a petition in this regard to the Villupuram SP. In the petition, deceased girl P Lisa Lakshmi’s father, K Palanivel, 34, said his daughter might have been murdered by someone in the school and the management was attempting to cover up the crime by staging a drama that she fell into the septic tank and died.
Palanivel said there are 37 CCTV cameras inside the school and the management submitted the recordings of 32 CCTV cameras but not the remaining five. He said the recordings submitted by the school management show a teacher carrying his daughter towards the septic tank at 2.14 pm on the ill-fated day and within a few minutes, the same teacher carrying her in the opposite direction.
He claimed that the school management tampered with the recordings of the CCTV cameras that were not submitted to the police on time. He alleged that staff members of the school were involved in suppressing the crime and enacted a drama that his daughter fell into the septic tank and died.
He demanded the police and the school management hand over the recordings of all CCTV cameras to the court, which hears the case, as there are attempts to destroy recordings. He said he lost faith in the ongoing investigation by the police and urged the govt to transfer the case to the CB-CID to unearth the truth about the death of his daughter and punish the culprits responsible for her death. He said they are facing threats and urged govt to provide protection to them.
