Panneerselvam appoints Vaithilingam as AIADMK joint coordinator

CHENNAI: Former Tamil Nadu chief minister O Panneerselvam on Monday appointed former minister R Vaithilingam as joint coordinator of the AIADMK.

Former minister K P Krishnan, senior leader J C D Prabhakar and Alangulam MLA Paul Manoj Pandian have been appointed as deputy coordinators of the party.

“I request the cadre to extend full support to the joint and deputy coordinators,” Panneerselvam said in a statement.

He sacked 10 functionaries from the primary membership of the party on charges of anti-party activities. They include nine district secretaries -- Siruniam P Balaraman (Tiruvallur North), M C Sampath (Cuddalore North), Sorathur R Rajendran (Cuddalore South), Udumalai K Radhakrishnan (Tirupur Rural), R K Ravichandran (Virudhunagar East), K T Rajenthra Bhalaji (Virudhunagar West), C Krishnamurali (Tenkasi North), Kadambur C Raju (Tuticorin North). Party advocate wing secretary V S Sethuraman was also sacked from the party.
