ODI: 13 held for the illegal sale of tickets

Chennai: Triplicane police on Wednesday booked 13 persons for selling tickets in black for the India-Australia cricket match near the M A Chidambaram stadium in Chepauk. Police seized 32 tickets and 14,540 from them.Police had increased vigil in and around Chepauk based on a tip-off. Police personnel raided hotels on Wallajah Salai, Victoria Hostel road, Bells Road and Chepauk MRTS railway station and picked up 13 persons. Those arrested were J John, 31, D Joseph, 24, K Rajesh, 32, S Udhayakumar, 32, V Prasad, 30, S Srinivasan, 41, L Thangaivel, 33, A Prakash, 28, R Gajendran, 25, A Udayasankar, 29, A Alexander, 35, Sourath Ashish, 23, and S Ramchandar, 51.
