North police have arrested nine people for selling pirated
DVDs
and
CDs
of newly released
movies
.
The police conducted a surprise check in Burma Bazaar, Sarathi Maligai, Filterbed Road and Vellore Old Bus Stand on Saturday and Sunday and arrested S Kumar ,60, V Dhanasekar , 32, N Prakash, 42, P Sundhar, 40, N Raguman , 23, N Venkatesan , 45, K Prasanth , 23, Bala Murugan , 43, and V Pasupathi ,22, for selling pirated DVDs and CDs of the newly released.
The police have also seized 2,688 CDs and DVDs from the shops, including the newly released movies such as Dora, Mottai Siva, Kavan, 8 Thottakal, Kadamban and Power Pandy.
The police have registered a case against them.
