The court imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on the convict, identified as Abdullah alias Saravana Kumar.

NIA's probe established that the accused had sought affiliation with the banned group to advance its agenda. He actively supported HuT's mission to replace democratic govts, including the Indian govt, with its envisioned khilafat (caliphate).

Investigations revealed that in 2021, Abdullah made two posts on his Facebook profile - 'Abdullah ibn Subramanian', aimed at undermining India's sovereignty and territorial unity. The NIA found that he worked to foster anti-govt sentiments and encouraged others to act against state security and social harmony, with the intention of conducting unlawful activities.
