NEET: BJP is the only party concerned about students’ welfare, Karu Nagarajan says
CHENNAI: General secretary of BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit
“We have made our stand clear in the court. It is not an ideological or political battle for us. It is a legal battle and we are questioning the TN government’s decision to form an expert committee as against the constitutional bench of the Supreme Court’s order,” said the BJP leader in a bid to refute DMK’s MP and senior advocate P Wilson who charged that the writ petition was politically motivated.
“The BJP is the only party that is concerned about the welfare of the students,” he said and urged the DMK and its allies not to fool the people of the state and misguide the students for their political game.
The Congress and Left parties had joined the DMK in this issue, he said and wondered why the Congress-led government in Punjab and the CPM’s government in Kerala were not opposing NEET.
On the party’s youth wing resolution against actor Suriya who had airing his views against NEET, Nagarajan said there were many airing their views “blindly” without having a proper understanding of the issue.
“Anyone can register their views in a democratic way,” said Nagarajan while responding to a question on the Tamil Nadu film industry’s strong protest against the Union government’s Cinematograph Bill.
Karu Nagarajan
on Monday said the party had resorted to a legal battle against the Tamil Nadu government’s experts committee headed by Justice (retired) A K Rajan that was formed to study the impact of NEET.“We have made our stand clear in the court.
