NDA allies will work for AIADMK’s victory: Piyush Goyal
CHENNAI: After firming up a “grand” alliance in the state, senior BJP leader and Union minister Piyush Goyal on Wednesday vowed that all alliance partners in the state, will work for the victory of the ruling AIADMK in all 18 assembly seats that go to polls along with the general elections.
He spoke at the AIADMK headquarters after successfully bringing on board eight parties in the NDA, including PMK, DMDK, PT, TMC, NJP and AINRC in Puducherry. The leader spent two hours helping the AIADMK to finalise constituencies for allies. The final list was completed late evening.

Goyal showered encomiums on the former chief minister J Jayalalithaa. “Today, we would like to begin this grand alliance’s campaign remembering ‘honourable’ Jayalalithaa, whom we all fondly call Amma, for her leadership of the state and for all welfare measures she has done for the poor, farmers and for all people of Tamil Nadu,” he said, adding that the victory would be a tribute to the leader. The minister said the alliance under the leadership of chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam, would ensure the victory of each seat in TN.
The ruling AIADMK stitched a formidable alliance for the general elections with six partners in the state with an assurance from each of them that they would support the party candidates in the bypolls as and when it takes place. G K Vasan’s TMC signed a poll pact with AIADMK at a city hotel on Wednesday for a LS seat. Vasan said, “we are glad to sign the poll agreement with AIADMK that has the blessings of Puratchi Thalaivar and Puratchi Thalaivi. This alliance will not only win Tamil Nadu but across the country,” he said.
