Tamil Nadu appointed to the
TTD Board. Generally, there used to only two members, but this time four have been appointed by the
Andhra Pradesh government. In the outgoing board, there was no representation from Tamil Nadu after contractor Sekar Reddy’s name was removed in 2016 following income tax searches.
Dr Nichitha Muppavarapu, AIADMK MLA R Kumaraguru and V Krishnamoorthy are the other members from TN on the TTD board. TTD sources told TOI that while Srinivasan was recommended by AP chief minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, the AIADMK MLA was recommended by CM Edappadi K Palaniswami, Dr Nichitha by a senior
DMK leader and Krishnamoorthy by the local
BJP.
“Government in exercise of powers conferred under section 154 of the Andhra Pradesh Charitable and Hindu Religious Institutions and Endowments Act, hereby exempt section 19(k) of the said Act in respect of Srinivasan and Sudha Narayanamurthy to appoint as member of the TTD Board,” said the AP government order.
