SALEM: The public works department has increased the quantum of water being released from the Stanley reservoir (Mettur dam) -- from 500 cusecs to 2,500 cusecs -- ahead of Aadi Perukku or Aadi 18, which will be celebrated on Thursday.
Aadi Perukku, a Hindu religious festival, will be celebrated on riverbanks on the 18th of the Tamil month Aadi.
