Modi fans to come up with ‘NaMo anthem’ for BJP campaign

have always been popular during election campaigns. Now, members of ‘

NaMo Peravai

’, an organisation consisting of fans of Narendra Modi, are toeing the trend to campaign for their favourite leader in the state.


They are compiling songs in Tamil to highlight the Centre's schemes and development projects implemented in the state. The songs, they believe, will help boost the image of Modi and will feature during BJP's election rallies.

The ‘

NaMo Anthem

’ will consist of three songs, each lasting for four to five minutes. “We will launch the songs in the next three days. It will focus on the good things that Modi's government has done for Tamil Nadu. One song is in praise of Modi for safeguarding the fishermen community in Tamil Nadu,” state coordinator of the peravai A Vinod Akkalraj said.

He said that they were not BJP workers but loyal followers of Modi. Their campaign would focus on “Modi Again”. It was part of a series of events that they were planning to support the BJP candidates fielded in the state — H Raja (Sivaganga), Tamilisai Soundararajan (Tuticorin) and Pon Radhakrishnan (Kanyakumari) — who would face a tough fight from the Congress and the DMK candidates.

The songs will also touch on the welfare schemes for women, farmers and fishermen community and thank the Prime Minister for establishing AIIMS in Madurai, R Raguraman, 42, who penned the songs, said. “We have written the songs in simple Tamil so that it is easy for the common man to understand,” he said.

A S Ram has composed the music, while Narayanan and Aanandi V Joshi has lent their voices for the song.The peravai that has around 8,000 registered members. “We will make use of the anthem for our campaign. It will help us garner more support and to easily carry our message to the mass,” BJP’s state IT Wing president R Nirmal Kumar said.
