Minor girl among three arrested for murder of boy near Krishnagiri

KRISHNAGIRI: Three people, including a 17-year-old girl, were arrested on Friday in connection with the murder of S Rohit, a 13-year-old boy, near Anchetti in Krishnagiri district.The accused have been identified as P Madevan, 21, M Madevan, 22, and a minor girl. All are residents of Manavatti village. Police said the girl, a relative of Rohit, was in a relationship with P Madevan. The boy reportedly discovered their relationship, prompting the trio to murder him to keep it a secret.According to Krishnagiri superintendent of police P Thangadurai, Rohit saw the couple in a private moment near a temple on Wednesday. When confronted, they asked him not to reveal anything. Later, P Madevan called his friend M Madevan. They two lured Rohit into a car, along with the girl. The group roamed around and even stopped at a local eatery, where a CCTV camera recorded them buying fruit juice for Rohit.He said Rohit later made remarks about the girl and threatened to tell her parents about the relationship. Enraged, P Madevan smothered Rohit with a shawl worn by the girl, and the trio dumped the body in a secluded spot near a forest.Rohit was reported missing on Wednesday night, and his body was found in a roadside ditch the next day. The Anchetty police booked the trio for kidnap and murder.
