CHENNAI:
Tamil Nadu municipal administration and water supply department minister K N Nehru on Friday inspected work on a new bridge across the river Cooum in Chennai. The flyover will connect Nolambur with the Poonamallee High Road.
Foundation work for the Rs 42.71 crore project has started. The bridge will replace the existing 'Tharai Palam (river bridge)' that's currently at a lesser height to the river.
Chennai mayor R Priya, GCC commissioner Dr J Radhakrishnan and Sriperumbudur Lok Sabha MP T R Baalu were present.
