Milk flow not hit; to be normal today

Despite Monday's storm,

Aavin milk supply

remained unaffected through the city . The

milk federation

said its supply in Chennai, which consumes 11.5 lakh litres of milk, will be normal on Tuesday with all its factories working full strength.

“Aavin made its normal supply of

11.49 lakh litres of milk

in Chennai on Monday morning. Of this 7.56 lakh litres were supplied through 132 routes and 3.93 lakh litres through wholesalers,“ a federation statement said.

Extra milk was also available. “In areas affected by waterlogging and uprooted trees, people bought milk from the parlours,“ said an Aavin official.
