Man tries to break open ATM in Chennai, arrested within an hour

CHENNAI: The Shankar Nagar police here arrested a 25-year-old man in less than an hour after he tried to break open an

ATM

at

Pozhichalur

on Monday night.

Police identified the arrested man as Arulmani, a native of Villupuram.

When the man broke open the lower compartment of the ATM, an alarm went off. The bank received an alert and informed the police.

A patrol team rushed to the spot and scanned the CCTV footage which recorded the man breaking open the ATM. The team alerted the other check points, and the man was nabbed within an hour.

The police registered a case and were questioning him.
