Police, who arrested the employee, also detained his father in connection with the incident. The accused, Sunil Kumar, 24, was employed at a factory in SIPCOT, Gummidipoondi.

He often argued with his employer, Jerish Anand, 35, the firm's manager, over work-related issues. During one such argument on Monday, Sunil brought a country-made gun to the workplace and threatened Jerish with it. His co-workers came to the manager's rescue and grabbed the gun from Sunil.

The management then filed a complaint. After being warned by the company, Sunil called his father, Upendra Mehta, 60, to the factory and handed over the gun to him. Police picked up the two for possessing illegal firearm. tnn
