VELLORE: The Vellore additional district fast track court on Monday sentenced a 25-year-old man to
life imprisonment
for murdering a
farmer
cum
money lender
last year.
Public prosecutor A G Annamalai said R Nandha alias Muthukumar of Keezhvettuvanam
murdered G Kasinathan, 65, on May 28 , 2018 and escaped with Rs 1,000 in cash and a mobile phone worth 3,000. Nandha murdered Kasinathan in the latter’s farmland.
A villager, who saw Nandha rushing out of the farm with bloodstains all over his body, alerted Kasinathan’s family members .
The Pallikonda police registered a case arrested Nandha two days after the
murder.
On Monday, judge M Gunasekar found Nandha guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 on him.
