Chennai: A man who agreed to hitch a ride on a bike which was already being ridden by three people, ended up being robbed of his mobile phones and debit card.
This robbery took place on the outskirts of Chennai near Kundrathur on February 12 around 10.30 pm. Madhusudhanan, 50, an employee of a private firm in Oragadam, was walking back home to Kundrathur.

The road was dimly lit and not many buses ply on that route, police said. A motorbike with two men and a teenager stopped and offered him a ride. Madhusudhanan was circumspect initially but considering it was already very late, he got on the bike. The boy sat on the fuel tank of the vehicle.
A few minutes into the ride, the rider took a turn down a narrow and deserted lane near the Murugan temple.The stopped the bike and asked Madhusudhanan to empty his pockets at knife-point. He was carrying two mobile phones and a debit-cum-credit card The trio took the card and the phones and sped away.
A complaint was filed with the Kundrathur police who later arrested S Saravanan (22), S Nagesh (22) and a 14-year-old boy in connection with the crime.
