Man posing as Fernandes' secretary: Complaint

CHENNAI: The treasurer of the Samata Party (Tamil Nadu Unit) S A Rajasekhar has filed a police complaint alleging that an ex-office bearer of the party was impersonating as the personal assistant to the former defence minister George Fernandes.
Rajasekhar has alleged that the party functionary N A Kone, his brother Kumar Nambi, sister-in-law Chitra Nambi and brother Varma had cheated several people promising them government jobs.Kone, according to Rajasekhar, had impersonated as the personal assistant to Fernandes.
"He had collected Rs. 2 lakh from one of my acquaintances promising her a job in the railway hospital in 2007. Neither did he get her the job nor did he return the money. He has cheated several persons this way," Rajasekhar claimed.
He alleged that Kone had also embezzled party funds to the tune of Rs 10 lakh. Later when this was brought to the notice of the party high command in New Delhi, the leadership had expelled him.
