Man drives his car into median, dies

Chennai: A 30-year-old engineer died Sunday night after he lost control of his car and rammed a median on the road in Avadi. The man, Narendran, is survived by his wife Janani and nine-month-old baby.Police said Narendran of Vasantham Nagar, an engineer employed at a private firm in Kanthanchavadi, was returning after visiting his parents at Arakonam when he rammed the median. The vehicle turned upside down, said police. Narendran suffered a head injury and died on the spot. Police sent the body for postmortem.
