Man arrested for sexually assaulting 7-year-old girl

Chennai: The Ayanavaram police arrested a man on Friday for the sexual assault of a seven-year-old girl at her residence. The accused, identified as Vijay, suffered a fracture on his arm after he fell down while trying to escape arrest, police said . Police said the minor was playing inside her house when Vijay entered the premises and committed the assault. When the police team cornered him, Vijay, tried to flee. He fell and suffered a fracture to his arm. He will be sent to Puzhal prison after getting medical fitness certificate from the Govt Stanley Hospital. The seven-year-old victim was rescued by a woman police officer.
