Man arrested for harassing woman with morphed photo near Chennai

CHENNAI: The Thiruverkadu police near Chennai arrested a 22-year-old man for harassing a

woman

with a

morphed photo

and demanding that she share with him her nude photos.

The arrested man has been identified as N Santhosh of Karasamangalam village. He was the woman’s classmate in an engineering college.

The woman received a photo on WhatsApp a few days ago. It was a morphed photo – showing her face and another woman’s nude body.

The sender wanted her to share with him her nude photos. She blocked his number. However, the accused spread false information about her on a social media site.

Aggrieved, the woman approached Thiruverkadu police. The man was traced with the help of the cyber cell. He was booked for woman

harassment

and remanded in judicial custody.
