Sakthi Kumar of Thiruvanmiyur had filed a petition in the high court to quash the Crime Control Bureau’s (CCB) case filed against him for allegedly falsely registering his father’s property in his name. The CCB had registered the case after Kumar’s sister moved the court claiming the property was registered when her father was unconscious. The sub-registrar, M G Dhamu had also colluded with Kumar.

When Kumar’s petition came up for hearing on Wednesday, the additional public prosecutor informed the court that a case had been registered against Dhamu. His anticipatory bail statement had contradictory statements, said the prosecutor.

Justice R Mathadev passed oral orders directing the police to arrest the sub-registrar.
