MADURAI: A writ petition has been filed in the Madurai bench of the Madras high court challenging a government order introducing a weightage method for recruitment of paramedical staff.
In his petition, Tamil Nadu Pharmacists Welfare Association general secretary K Arun Singh said the government order passed by the family welfare department on December 16 last year would affect the lives of several people who obtained diploma in paramedicine.

He said the recruitment process should be carried out on the basis of the old method where seniority was given preference.
When the matter came up for admission, Justice S Vaidyanathan ordered notice to the health secretary and adjourned the matter.
