M Suresh Babu stars in India Pistons win

CHENNAI: Left-arm spinner M Suresh Babu took 5 for 6 to help India Pistons register a 217-run win over Swaraj CC in their TNCA first division clash here on Monday. The low-scoring clash saw India Pistons dismissed for 135. Swaraj CC fared worse as they were bowled out for 74 in their opening essay. India Pistons, in their second innings, rode R Karthikeyan’s 95 to finish on 189.Chasing 250, Swaraj managed to score just 33 in 21.3 overs with Suresh being the wrecker-in-chief.
In another match, medium-pacer Poiyamozhi’s (6 for 44) maiden five-wicket haul in the league helped Nelson beat AG’s Office by an innings and 54 runs. After bowling out AG’s Office for 133, Nelson took a 208-run first innings with chief contributions from M Sridhar Raj (119) and Robin Bist (114). AG’s Office, in their second innings, were all out for 154 with Poiyamozhi leading the show.
Manprit Juneja’s unbeaten 148 helped Alwarpet grab the first-innings lead against MRC ‘A’. R Ashwin’s hundred helped MRC ‘A’ score 346. Alwarpet, in reply, made 350 for 4.
