Lotus will bloom even in Chennai’s Cooum river: Tamilisai Soundararajan
CHENNAI: Former Telangana governor Tamilisai Soundararajan on Thursday said the “lotus will bloom in every house very soon”.
Speaking to reporters in Chennai, Tamilisai said, "You (DMK) can't tolerate the lotus blooming in ponds, but very soon you will see the lotus blooming in every house. Soon there will be heavy rain, and the lotus will bloom in all water bodies."
Tamilisai was responding to Hindu religious & charitable endowments minister P K Sekarbabu, who, during an inspection of a park in Porur in Chennai, casually remarked that the lotus should not grow in the pond. The comment sparked a debate on social media, where many BJP functionaries criticised Sekarbabu for his remark.
Tamilisai said Sekarbabu got nervous on seeing a lotus in a pond. "Annan (elder brother) Sekarbabu is going to see the lotus form the govt soon, and it is not merely a noise, but a promise,” said Tamilisai.
The former governor said for a long time, the DMK govt had been “deceiving people” by claiming it would clean up the river Cooum. Once the BJP assumes office (in Tamil Nadu), it will clean the Cooum and make the lotus bloom in that river too, she said.
