Lok Sabha elections 2024: AIADMK manifesto committee to tour Tamil Nadu
CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami on Friday announced that the party election committee would tour nine zones in the state between February 5 and 10 and elicit views from various sections, including farmers, fishermen, government employees and traders.
In an official release, the former chief minister said the manifesto would highlight the interests of Tamil Nadu and make a constructive contribution to the social and political development of India, taking into account social, political, and economic changes that have taken place in recent times.
The panel will visit Chennai and Vellore zones on February 5, Villupuram and Salem zones on February 6, and Thanjavur, and Trichy zones on February 7. Coimbatore, Madurai, and Tirunelveli zones will be covered on February 8, 9 and 10 respectively.
Party district secretaries should assist the committee to gather information regarding the needs and expectations of various sections of people about the Union government, Palaniswami said.
The ten-member manifesto committee of former ministers includes Natham R Viswanathan, C Ponnaiyan, D Jayakumar, C Ve Shanmugam, Pollachi V Jayaraman and S Semmalai.
