Locals tie up ‘burglars’, thrash them for 8 hours
Chennai: Residents of Vallalar Nagar in Kancheepuram on Sunday caught two youths they thought were
Abdul Hameed, a resident of Vallalar Nagar, returned from a family function and found his house burgled. He then spotted Imraan Khan, 19, and his friend Mohan Raj, 19, both from the same locality, standing outside his house. People in the area
Villagers said police failed to act on their complaints while nearly ten houses in the locality were burgled in the recent past. Police resorted to lathi-charge as locals pelted stones at them. The two were rescued and admitted to a hospital.
