Legendary musician Balamurali's wife Annapoorna dies

CHENNAI: Wife of legendary musician late M Balamuralikrishna, Annapoorna, passed away at her residence on Thursday afternoon after battling illness for the past few months. She was 82.
Her death comes close to three months after the demise of her vocalist and multiinstrumentalist husband.
Married to Balamuralikrishna at 14, she was the backbone of the family. “She raised us, as our father would be on tour,“ Dr M Vamsie Mohan, the youngest of her six children, said.
Remembered as a warm person by students of the late musician, Annapoorna's health worsened after Balamuralikrishna's death. The final rites will take place at her residence on Cathedral Road from 8am on Friday and then at Mylapore crematorium.
She is survived by three daughters and three sons.
