MADURAI: Rattled aides of Union fertiliser minister M K Alagiri have sought anticipatory bail from a Madurai court on Thursday fearing arrest in a land grab case. In a complaint, a couple, S Sivanandi and his wife S Pappa, hailing from Venkadasamuthram near Thirumangalam, have accused several key associates of Alagiri of usurping their land worth Rs 5 crore.
Pottu’ Suresh, S R Gopi, ‘Thaimookambigai’ Sethuraman, DMK urban district secretary K Thalapathy, Thirumangalam union chairman K Chandrasekaran, DMK executive committee member N Suresh Babu, Thirunagar town panchayat chairperson Indira Gandhi and her husband Krishnasamy have filed anticipatory bail petitions in the principal district sessions court in Madurai denying the charges against them.
Stating that they apprehended arrest by the police in connection with the complaint, they sought anticipatory bail.
