CHENNAI: On the eve of the DMK’s high-profile executive committee meeting in Chennai, expelled leader and party chief M Karunanidhi’s son, MK Alagiri said true loyalists of the party chief were with him.


He was speaking to mediapersons after paying homage at his father’s burial site in Marina with his family members.

Flanked by his son, Durai Dhayanidhi and his daughter, Kayalvizhi,

Alagiri

said he came to express his anguish to his father. “En Thalaivar (my leader) Kalaignar’s true loyalists are with me. All are supporting me. Time will tell,” he said.

To a specific query if the anguish was to do with party or personal issue, Alagiri said, “My anguish is related to party matter.”

On the executive committee meeting to condole the demise of the party president, the former Union minister said, “I don’t know about that. I am not in DMK. Don’t ask me.”

When asked if there was a possibility of his coming back to the DMK fold, he said, “I don’t know about that. I expressed my anguish (to his father)."
