Akshita was held in Dravidian style - without a priest and homam – at the former’s residence at Gopalapuram in Chennai on Monday morning.
Manuranjith, son of CavinKare founder C K Ranganathan, is the grandson of Karunanidhi’s first son M K
Muthu.
Karunanidhi’s Gopalapuram residence was decorated with flowers, and a stage was erected on the premises.
Karunanidhi, who has not been keeping well for almost a year, was seen greeting guests.
Karunanidhi’s son M K Alagiri and Alagiri’s son Dayanidhi were among those who participated in the wedding. Alagiri had not been seen in public for a long time.

Stalin
and his half-brother Muthu were not present. While Stalin was at Pasumpon paying homage to U Muthuramalinga Thevar on his birth and death anniversaries, Muthu was too ill to attend the function, party sources said.
The families of the couple will hold a reception in Mayor Ramanathan Hall at MRC Nagar on Tuesday.
