Kargil Vijay Diwas observed at War Memorial

Chennai: The 23rd Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed at the Headquarters Dakshin Bharat Area of the Army on Tuesday. Lieutenant General A Arun, General Officer Commanding-Dakshin Bharat Area, along with personnel from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Veterans, NCC and civil fraternity paid homage to those who sacrificed lives for the country.
Kargil Vijay Diwas is commemorated on 26th of July to observe India's victory over Pakistan in the Kargil War in 1999 for ousting Pakistani forces from their occupied positions on the mountain tops of Northern Kargil district in Ladakh.
