CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin on Friday unveiled the logo for the 25th anniversary of the Thiruvalluvar statue in Kanyakumari. The statue was installed by his father and late chief minister M Karunanidhi on Jan 1, 2000.
Unveiling the logo, Stalin posted on X, “Let’s celebrate the statue as a statue of wisdom.”
Thiruvalluvar authored Thirukkural, a collection of 1,330 couplets in Tamil that explore the themes of virtue, wealth and love.
The 95-foot statue, situated on a 38-foot pedestal representing the 133 chapters of the Thirukkural, was sculpted by V Ganapathi Sthapathi. It stands near the Vivekananda Rock Memorial.
Sthapathi also designed the Valluvar Kottam in Chennai.
