of inquiry probing the circumstances leading to the death of his mentor and former CM J Jayalaltihaa, appeared before the commission on Monday.

, V K Sasikala’s sister-in-law, also appeared before the commission on Monday.

The commission resumed its enquiry on March 7, after nearly three years, with a panel of doctors from AIIMS, New Delhi, joining the inquiry through video conferencing. So far, ten doctors and one technical assistant from Apollo Hospitals have deposed before the commission.

According to sources in the commission, this is expected to be the last leg of inquiry after which the commission will submit its report to the government.

The commission headed by Justice (Retd) A Arumughaswamy was set up by the Tamil Nadu government in September 2017. On April 26, 2019, the Supreme Court stayed the commission proceedings on a petition filed by Apollo Hospitals questioning the scope of inquiry.
