The anti-drug agency sought another week to interrogate Sadiq by taking him to Chennai. However, the court permitted three-day custody. He should be produced before the court before 4 pm on Tuesday.
It may be recalled that the NCB recently searched a house in Perungudi which was used by Sadiq's men to pack pseudoephedrine with ragi and cocoa powder and seized shipment bills of several consignments from Tamil Nadu to Delhi.
NCB's operations team and Delhi police busted a godown used to hoard pseudoephedrine and arrested three people. Based on their confession, the NCB arrested Jaffer Sadiq from a hideout.
Sadiq, who was till then known as a movie producer and businessman, holding a party post in DMK's NRI wing, became the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons. NCB's Chennai team arrested Sadiq's close aide Sadanandam in Chennai.
