CHENNAI: A total of 33 trainee scientific officers from BARC Training School at IGCAR completed their training on Monday. This is the 11th batch to complete the training and graduate, said an official statement.
Sekhar Basu, chairman, Atomic Energy Commission and secretary, Department of Atomic Energy, distributed the prestigious Homi Bhabha Prizes comprising a medallion and books to the toppers and released the souvenir featuring the training school programme during the academic year.
In his address, Basu emphasized the enhanced role of atomic energy in providing energy security and advised the graduates to play an active role in implementing the vision programmes of the Department. He motivated the young graduates to put their best efforts towards achieving the goals of the department.
Since the inception of the BARC Training at IGCAR, 447 trainee scientific officers have graduated and placed in various units of DAE such as BARC.
