CHENNAI: The

parents

Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman, who was captured by Pakistan, are scheduled to leave for Delhi tonight after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced that he would be released on Friday.


Air Marshal (retired) S Varthaman told police that he and his wife were planning to leave for Delhi in a couple of hours.

The pilot is expected to be handed over to Indian authorities at Wagah border post.

A huge number of residents have converged outside house of Abhinandan’s parents at Madambakkam here after news came out that he would be released.
