West Indian cricketer and ex-Chennai Super Kings’ player
Dwayne Bravo joined the long list of star cricketers, who are in the state to promote the ongoing Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) T20. The talented player took some time off to attend an event at Stella Maris College where he interacted with young girls. Motivating the girls to take up sports,

said, “Sports isn’t just for men. More women should come forward and take up sports as a career. I strongly believe that women can be on the same scale as men. Because of the lack of sponsorship for women athletes, it’s getting difficult for women players to earn and generate the kind of income as men earn. But I am all for female athletes getting equal pay… not just in sports, but also for day-to-day jobs. They deserve it, don’t they?”
So, will there be a possibility of a TNPL for women? Bravo said, “Definitely! It would be a huge success and I would definitely advocate TNPL for women, too. Ladies, get ready to be a part of it.”
And as usual, Bravo took the stage and danced with his fans to his ‘Champion’ song. When asked if he would love to play for Chennai Super Kings for the 2018 edition of IPL again, Bravo said, “Yes, I would love to be back with CSK.”
