Hospital owner arrested for assaulting former employee

Cleared - maniChennai: A managing director of a private hospital in Ayanavaram was arrested on Monday on charges of assaulting a former employee over a wage dispute on April 24, leaving the victim with head injuries, police said.Police said Sathya, 32, of Thirumullaivoyil worked as a driver for Naveen, 41, managing director of a private hospital on Konnur High Road, from March 20 before resigning on April 3, citing workplace harassment. When Sathya sought salary for 13 days of work, he was asked come on April 24. When he visited the hospital around noon that day, Naveen handed over ₹4,000 and told him the remaining ₹4,000 would be transferred later.On Monday, when he reached the hospital around 9.45 pm, Naveen abused him, slapped him and assaulted him, allegedly with a surgical blade. He was later admitted to the Govt Kilpauk Medical College Hospital. The accused was booked by the Ayanavaram police. Further investigation is underway.MSID:: 130556110 413 |
