Chennai: Groom, 30, ends life after bride elopes

CHENNAI: A 30-year-old man, whose marriage was called off two days before his wedding, ended his life at Vada Nemmeli.
Police said Madurai Muthu, 30, of Kannagi Nagar, employed at a private firm had got engaged to a woman from Pernambut in Vellore. The wedding was scheduled on March 16. However, their marriage was called off after the woman eloped with her boyfriend.
Following this, Muthu stayed aloof and frustrated.Two days ago, he left his house and did not return. His parents lodged a missing complaint.
Meanwhile, the Thalambur police recovered a body near Vada Nemmeli. He was identified as Muthu and his body was handed over to his family after a postmortem.
