Govt schoolteacher arrested for sexually assaulting, impregnating girl student near Cuddalore
CUDDALORE: A govt higher secondary school teacher has been arrested on charges of sexually assaulting and impregnating a Class XII girl in a village near Cuddalore.
Police said the minor survivor, who is presently 17 years old, is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing at a private college in Chennai. She gave birth to a baby boy four days ago. Upon inquiries by relatives, she revealed that the teacher had sexually assaulted her several times in the chemistry lab in the school.
Her parents lodged a complaint with the Sethiathope all-women police. Police inquiries revealed that he had sexually assaulted her several times. The last sexual assault happened on March 18.
The police booked Malarselvan under sections the Protection of Children from the Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act, 2012 and the BNS and arrested him on Wednesday.
