Gold theft: Police plan to quiz Vijay Yesudas’s wife

Chennai: Police are planning to question the wife of singer Vijay Yesudas in connection with a complaint filed by her to trace 60 sovereigns of gold jewellery worth around ₹26 lakh that went missing from her home in the city’s Abiramapuram area.
Members of the investigating police team have questioned 11 suspects in the case including the maid, security guard and drivers of Darshana, the singer’s wife.
Darshana had filed a complaint with the Abiramapuram police on March 30, seeking to trace the jewellery that she said went missing from the safe on February 18. Her husband was in the United Arab Emirates at the time the police complaint was lodged.
The investigation officers attached to the case said Darshana had kept the jewellery in a safe locker, whose code was known only to the couple. They also plan to question the complainant in connection with the case.
