Girl goes missing after getting reprimanded by teacher

CHENNAI:

Selaiyur police

have launched a search for a Class XI girl who went

missing

after being reprimanded by her school teacher on Saturday.

Police said Swasthika Kumari, 15, was a resident of Selaiyur. She was a student of a central government school in the locality. She had appeared for her examination on Friday when she was allegedly caught by her teacher peeking into her friend’s answer sheet. The invigilator asked her to come with her parents to school on Monday. She apologised and pleaded with the teacher to not inform her parents about the incident. The teacher then sent her home.

Later the class teacher became suspicious and called her parents to check if she had reached home. When her parents realised she had not returned home, they started looking for her and lodged a complaint with Selaiyur police.
