Geriatric long-term ward opened in Chennai hospital

CHENNAI: Dr Mehta's Hospitals has launched a geriatric long-term care ward on its campus in Velappanchavadi.

According to a release, this facility allows clinicians to monitor and provide inpatient treatments for elderly people with chronic illnesses, their associated complications, and age-related disabilities.

Geriatric specialist Dr V S Natarajan took part in the inauguration. He said the launch of the new ward is a step towards improving the lives of senior citizens.

Dr Pranav Mehta, director, Dr Mehta’s Hospitals, addressed the physical, mental, and emotional health needs of geriatric long stay patients through the high-equity rehabilitation program, equipped with an in-house diagnostic facility, experienced geriatricians and their teams, physiotherapy care, and intensive care.
