Gangster Kundrathur Vairam arrested in Chennai

CHENNAI: The anti- gangster team of the Central Crime Branch has arrested a gangster named Vairam alias Kundrathur Vairam in Chennai.
The 38-year gangster has a dozen cases registered against him, including two murders and attempt to murder cases.
He primarily operated in Chennai and in parts of Kerala.
“He has been evading police for at least six months.So we watched and monitored his associates and laid a trap to nab him,” a statement from the police said.
The team caught him when he tried to exhort money from owners of a construction company Sirukulathur on Friday. Two of Vairam’s aides - P Kumar alias Selvakumar and J Arumugam – were also arrested.
