Gang attacks two Chennai conservancy workers, snatches mobile phones

CHENNAI: Six men on two motorcycles attacked two

conservancy workers

-- who are siblings -- and robbed them of their

mobile phones

here in the early hours of Friday.

The incident happened when Madhan Kumar, 23, and his brother Ajithkumar, 21, were removing garbage from near the

Avadi

bus terminus around 2.30am. The

gang

attacked them with knives before snatching their mobile phones.

The brothers, who suffered injuries, were admitted to Avadi Government Hospital.

Based on a complaint, the Avadi police began investigations. They collected CCTV footages from nearby shops to trace the robbers.
